Veterinary Associates

Dr Loy H

Dr. Loy has been working in veterinary medicine for over 20 years. He grew up on the family farm in rural Clay City and graduated from Clay City High School. He then proceeded to pursue veterinary medicine, graduating from SIU with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science, then attending University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduating in 1998.

Dr. Loy and his wife, Tammy, were married in 1998, they have four boys, Casey, Aaron, Jesse and Eli. They reside on the family farm in rural Clay City and have cattle and a Lab named Duke. In his free time, Dr. Loy enjoys spending time with family, the occasional vacation and riding ATVs.

Dr Deb D

Dr. Deb  has been an associate at the Flora Veterinary Clinic since 1995. She grew up in the area (rural Xenia) and attended Flora High School and then went on to the University of Illinois where she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She became a veterinarian because she found the work extremely interesting, challenging and satisfying. She now works with small animals and especially enjoys senior pet care.

Dr. Deb is married to Paul and they have 4 children: Vivian, Max, Sam and Nolan. She also has 2 dogs, Bisquick and Gus, and several cats. She is very involved in her church, attending her children’s activities and enjoys any free time socializing with friends and family.

Dr Holly C

Dr. Holly graduated from North Clay High School in Louisville, IL.  in 2003. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 2010. In June of 2010 Dr. Cummins began working at the Flora Veterinary Clinic. Her focus is with small animals and she has a special interest in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Holly is a current member of the Southern Illinois Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Holly and her husband, Aaron, were married in 2012. They reside in rural Flora with their 3 children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, reading, gardening, and being outdoors.

Dr Kate J

Dr. Kate grew up in Farmer City, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring  in Animal Sciences. Dr. Kate then attended the University of Missouri for veterinary school and graduated in 2016. She has worked at the Flora Veterinary Clinic since she graduated. She is a current member of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Kate and her husband Cody were married in 2018. They currently live near Louisville with their 2 cats. In her free time, Kate enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family. She stays actively involved at Red Brush Christian Church.

Sandi K

Office Manager

Sandi has been with the Flora Veterinary Clinic since September 2014. Sandi graduated from Cisne High School in 1986 and then went onto Wabash Valley College where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Middle Management in 1988. After marriage and having 3 children she graduated St. Mary of the Woods College with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, majoring in elementary education in 2005. Sandi spent 15 years in education before making a change.

Sandi and her husband, Henry, have 3 grown children, Ian, Megan, and Anderson. They have a small goat herd and also grain farm. She is involved with her church and enjoys cooking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Amanda P

Amanda was born in 1982 and is one of four children. She graduated with High Honors from Flora High School in 2000. She attended college for a short time but decided it wasn’t for her. Amanda had worked at Flora Veterinary Clinic from 2001 until 2012 when she decided to explore other interests. Amanda returned to Flora Veterinary Clinic in September 2017.

Amanda married Preston in 2002 and they have 3 beautiful girls which are the loves of her life. The family has 1 dog and 1 cat. In the future she and Preston hope to buy some property in a wooded area where they can raise their children and have lots of pets.

Jessica M

Jessica was born and raised in Flora, Il. She completed high school and some college courses. Jessica married Josh in 2008 and they have 4 amazing children, Marisa, Jase, Maddie and Memphis. They have 2 dogs, Copper & Baylee, and a cat named Batman. Jessica loves living and working in a small community surrounded by family and friends.

Jessica has always worked in retail as a customer service manager and never would have thought that veterinary medicine would be in her future. She is very thankful because it has made her a much better pet mom and she is learning a great deal and enjoys knowing that she will continue to learn. She says that each day is an exciting new challenge.

Between work and the kid’s activities there isn’t a lot of down time, but when there is, she enjoys an occasional day of Netflix.

Misty M

Misty has lived in Clay County all her life. She and her husband, Reid, bought a house on 17 acres in Xenia a couple of years ago. They truly love living there and spending time outdoors with their 2 young children along with their 3 dogs and their cat.  Misty has 3 adult children and 4 wonderful grandchildren.  Misty and her husband Reid were married in 2007. Reid works at NAL/IEP in Flora. Misty started working at the Flora Veterinary Clinic in September 2018. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors with her family side by side riding, fishing, and taking walks in the woods.

Amy D

Amy was born and raised on a little farm with cattle in Winchester, IL. She attended Spoon River Community College on a softball scholarship for 2 years before moving to Macomb and earning her Bachelor of Science Degree, with a major in Animal Sciences  from  Western Illinois University. She met her husband in 2014 and they were married in 2017.

Amy and her husband, Blaine have 2 dogs, Ace and Clyde. They have a couple of horses and also raise chickens. Amy has recently taken up quilting and has joined a local quilt guild, Sew Nifty Sisterhood, located here in Flora. Some of Amy’s hobbies include horseback riding, cross stitching, reading, hunting, ATV riding, and watching football with family

Hallie C

Hallie graduated from Cisne High School in 2009. She married Casey in 2011 and they have 2 children, Lucas & Bristol. Hallie enjoys taking pictures, crafting, horseback riding, ATV riding and scrap booking. Hallie has always had a love for animals so when she was asked in 2012 to join the staff she immediately accepted. Her role here began as a receptionist and by 2013 Hallie was veterinary technician. In 2015 the opportunity arose to become the surgical tech Hallie accepted the position. She assists with most surgeries at the clinic and absolutely enjoys it.

When Hallie came to work here, she and Casey got their first pet a mini Australian Shepherd named Blue. They now have 5 Aussies, Blue, Katie, Tatum, Bo and Maddie. The family also has a cat named Autumn whom they rescued. Autumn was brought to the clinic after being hit by a car. She had a broken pelvis and after a little TLC she went to be part of their family. They have 3 horses Chloe, Ginger and Chief.

Amber R

Amber is a country girl born and raised in central Illinois. She grew up with dogs, cats, chickens, horses, cows and pigs. After working in a factory for 10 years, she left to be a stay at home mom. In 2014 she joined the team at Flora Veterinary Clinic and very quickly discovered how much she loved it.

In 2015 Amber met a wonderful man, Shane, and they own a home near Enterprise. Their family consists of Amber, her daughter Avery, Shane and his son Wyatt. The family have 2 German Shepherds by the names of Shiloh and Arrow, their lives are very full and busy.

Kennel Attendant

Barb F

Barb is a farm kid born in 1966. You name it, they raised it so she grew up pretty fearless of most critters. She has raised, trained, and broke horses, worked on a poultry farm where she cared for 320,000 birds, and has raised many different animals.  Barb attended Kaskaskia College and has an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice. Barb has worked for the Centralia Fire Department as a firefighter and EMT. She has studied Okanawan Karate and Jujitsu, moved on to wrestling and wrestled professionally for 23 years as Lady Vendetta.

Barb has two grown daughters, Edana and Summer. They are her world.  Barb has 27 cats, 2 dogs, 2 parakeets, a hedgehog, and a turtle. Her most loved pet was a Red-Tailed Boa Constrictor, whom she had for 13 years. Currently Barb is doing wild life rehabilitation for the State of Illinois where she cares mostly for baby raccoons. Barb is a lover of all animals and will always go the extra mile for their care.

Crystal R

Vet Tech / Customer Service Representative

Crystal has been with Wayne County Veterinary since 2011 and is originally from the Cisne area. She attended Cisne High School and then attended Rend Lake and studied Ag Business. Crystal went on to Murray State University and studied Animal Health Technology.

Crystals love of animals continues at home with her own fur babies. She has a Chihuahua named Roxy a Pitbull named July and several cats. In her spare time Crystal likes to read and doing arts & crafts.

Sierra E

Vet Tech / Customer Service Representative

Sierra has been at Wayne County Veterinary since April 2015. She lives in the Fairfield area now but she grew up in the Cisne area. Sierra attended Cisne High School then to Frontier and is now studying Environmental Science through Southern New Hampshire University.

She has been married to Seth since November 2013 and they have two wonderful children, Ellie and Jasper. In her spare time Sierra likes to knit, read, outdoor activities, cooking, going to the beach and playing with her children. Sierra and her family have two cats at home by the names of Zuzu and Zoe.

Karina B

Karina’s says that she has had the pleasure of working in a veterinary clinic since she was 16. She was born and raised on her grandparent’s farm which instilled a passion for animals in her heart. Karina takes a lot of pride in caring for animals and does her absolute best to educate owners so their beloved pets can have the best life. Training and nutrition are 2 portions of this field that are a very high priority to her. Karina is a certified groomer and has been for 10 years.

In her spare time Karina and her significant other, Keven take care of their farm. They have 6 horses, 7 dogs, and a few cats. They raise Morgan Horses, trail ride, and tend to rescue dogs, just another perk of the job;)
